One of the best ways to jump start your digestion is warm lemon water in the morning. also a good way to get your water intake right away. or if you have a hard time drinking plain water, add/infuse some citrus or fruit. you want to drink half your body weight of water in ounces daily; more if you have diuretics like coffee, tea, alcohol...
May your sunday be filled with love, relaxation, rejuvenation and a whole lot of coffee ☕️

Sound familiar? 😳🙋🏻♀️ ...yes, this is super common and we have been programmed in society to expect these mood swings, cramps and period problems 👎🏼 but let me tell you...it is not normal for women to have this experience! ❌ you may not know this, but regularly experiencing p*s in your 20’s and 30’s increases your chances of developing the big chronic diseases such as cardiovascular disease and alzheimer’s, in later life! 😯 one simple thing you can change to combat this, is the quality of f*t you are eating. vegetable oils, trans fats and non organic meat/dairy🥛increase inflammatory prostaglandins (pge2), whereas extra v****n olive oil, avocados, oily fish and nuts/seeds etc increase the anti-inflammatory prostaglandins (pge1 & 3) 🥑 for those who don’t know, prostaglandins are fatty acid compounds in the body, that have hormone-like effects and control pain, inflammation and uterine contractions 👌🏻✨
There is something fascinating about old stone buildings like this one. over the centuries, strong stone buildings keep standing and while some parts may be imperfect or irregular, the building remains intact, a testimony to our connection with the past and a reminder of wholeness through the passing of time.
did you know that the word "healing" comes from the same root as the word "whole"?
in the western world today, there is an over-emphasis on "healing" as a complete erasure of pain, illness, aging, imperfection and discomfort. i am not a subscriber to this image of healing, and generally mistrust its proponents.
to me, healing is about finding wholeness in spite of the impossibility of perfection. it's about accepting and loving our imperfect bodies so that we can become more whole and perhaps even hurt a bit less.
healing is a slow journey. it's a process, not a product.
First attempt at okonomiyaki, inspired by my visit to tokyo. this is a real comfort food for a cold day. you essentially make a batter mix with eggs, yam flour (or wheat flour) and water, add shredded cabbage, spring onions, seasoning and whatever you want. we added king prawns but you can add meat or keep it vegetarian. you then spoon into a frying pan and cook for 6-7 mins each side. very easy to make and you serve with optional okonomiyaki sauce (like a mild bbq sauce), mayonnaise and bonita fish flakes. yummy but next time will also add ginger and chilli for a little more flavour. this is simple japanese food that most westerners will love. #japan#okonomiyaki
My favorite place has my new favorite place!
i usually have a hard time with juice bars because they add a lot of fruit to the juices, making them a sugar bomb versus and nutrient blast.
here you can choose your own recipe which you can fill with a ton of great, fresh veggies. ▪️
plus they have hot toddys; ginger, lemon, honey and hot water - probably my favorite hot beverage of all time.
thanks to @willystreetcoop for always growing. 🌿
We blooming love this ginger boost mousse(sprinkled with a homemade paleo-granola) which we had as a pudding this lunchtime but could just as easily be used as a brekky. it’s managed to make a siberian chill disappear and the house seems all the more cosy. its immune-boosting antioxidants from the avocado, kiwi and ginger, along with their additional properties as digestive aids and ginger’s boost to blood-circulation means you can be fully prep’d for a wintry spring day within 3 minutes...can be served with or without granola depending on how much energy you’re using today.
