'without libraries what have we? we have no past and no future' - ray bradbury
well i have my new library card, having moved recently. i saw this quote in the local library from ray bradbury, which caught my eye.
admittedly i've only ever read fahrenheit 451 by him, but that novel alone had enough impact.
it's interesting to think along the lines of having no past or future as without those what do we have? would that be such a terrible and terrifying way to live our lives? free from the burden of routine & tradition but also liberated from the striving & search for security modern society calls 'the future'
i digress, just my thoughts and meanderings. but i'm interested what others think?
in this digital age i guess if you extend the concept of a library to a archive and all its physical and digital permutations then yes i wholeheartedly agree. the printed word will live on! support your local #libraries and #localbookshops folks :) #raybradbury#quotes#inspiration#thursdaythoughts#fahrenheit451#library
