Help needed! the trump administration announced its plans to open nearly all u.s. federal waters to offshore drilling activities. in a new draft five-year program (2019-2024) for oil and gas development on the outer continental shelf (ocs), the department of the interior (doi) outlined its plans to expand future oil and gas leasing to the atlantic, pacific and arctic oceans, as well as the eastern gulf of mexico. this is the largest number of potential offshore lease sales ever proposed. this plan opens the floodgates to dirty and dangerous offshore drilling, and also threatens coastal economies that rely on clean and healthy oceans.

let’s save our ocean and tell the trump administration to preserve and not harm our marine national monuments. if you are in ny, please call out to @nygovcuomo to lead governors against drilling and help save our pristine #ocean#change#ourchoicesmatter#nature
Today february 3, is international day without straws. a small but very destructive invention. refuse to use plastic straws. the short useful life of a straw in a few sips is transformed into a life that can last hundreds of years degrading the environment, because they do not decompose. use reusable straws or 100% biodegradable straws.
and stay tuned - on march 27th oceanic is going to be unveiling a surprise event around the importance of reducing single use plastics! image by @danigarreton#thankyou#ourchoicesmatter#saynotoplastics#theoceanicstandard

there's always that one friend...😂 did you know that the penguins black & white coloring helps them stay camouflaged while swimming? from outside of the water, their black backs help them blend into the dark water and, from below, their white stomachs match the brighter water surface lit by the sunlight. 📸: mario hoppmann #ocean#penguin#penguins#cute#marinelife
