Salmon nourish over 190 species from algae to bears. tracking the molecules of salmon is a beautiful metaphor on the interconnectivity of life. as we filmed dozens of bears gorging on salmon it was interesting to observe the fear dissipate and to become fairly comfortable around these massive predators. the missing eye of this bear reminded me that each bear is different and alert presence is always best.
